Adopting with the rapid growth of our University, ICTO will continue to deliver suitable ICT services and enhance various systems for staff and students. ICTO is working closely with different units on various initiatives. Some of these are scheduled to be kick-started in 2020. It includes UM Macao Talent Program Management System, Blockchain Platform for Digital Certificates and Student Self-printing Services for Transcript and Certifications etc. Here is a short overview of projects currently in-progress:
Time Attendance System
Installation of fingerprint readers and time attendance system to replace the current method of inputting username and password at individual desktops. This new check-in/out system will enhance accuracy, convenience, speed and effectiveness.
Wire and Wireless Network Refreshment
To meet the needs of University’s future development, ICTO has planned to upgrade the wired network and wireless network in phases. The network speed and stability will be improved significantly thereafter.
Staff Email System Upgrade
Due to end-of-support of current email system, ICTO is planning to upgrade staff email service, through the review and upgrade of both hardware and software.
ISO 27001:2013 Implementation for ICTO Data Center Services
In order to enhance the effectiveness and the level of Information Security, ICTO kick-started a project to certify the Information Security Management System (ISMS) standard with Data Center services of project phase one in September 2019. It is scheduled to be completed by August 2020.
