Microsoft has announced that they will end the extended support for Windows 7 on 14 January 2020, to prepare for this, ICTO is planning to gradually upgrade the operating system from Windows 7 to Windows 10 for computers issued by ICTO. All staff members will benefit from the new features, performance and security improvements that Windows 10 brings along.
For staff, starting from the middle of December 2017, ICTO has implemented the first phrase of Windows 10 deployment project. According to the plan, 415 desktop computers and 238 notebook computers are going to be upgraded.
Until 20th March 2018, ICTO has upgraded 384 desktop computers (92.5%) and 164 notebook computers (68.9%).
For students, ICTO has replaced new computers and deployed Windows 10 OS for computer rooms E6-2092 and E6-3094 during 2017 Christmas recess. In the coming summer recess, we will deploy Windows 10 OS for the rest of computers in computer rooms.
