From September 2024 to January 2025, ICTO organized practical workshops for UM staff members to enhance the efficiency on their daily works. During the workshops, participants were guided by trainers to do hands-on practice.

Meetings
The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area University Information Technology Director Forum was held at the University of Macau (UM) on 6 December 2024. Themed ‘Challenges and Development of Digital Campus in the New Era’, the forum brought together IT department heads from 20 universities in the Greater Bay Area to exchange ideas on promoting informatisation and IT development in higher education. Speaking at the event, UM Vice Rector Rui Martins said that the forum provided an opportunity for universities in the Greater Bay Area to share experiences in IT development, promote cooperation and resource sharing, and further enhance their academic and administrative activities. He also mentioned that informatisation will be an important part of the construction of the UM campus in the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin. He expressed hope that the insights shared at the forum would contribute to building a digital campus in the new era. The forum, which focused on the opportunities and challenges that IT development brings to universities, featured several IT departments heads from universities in the Greater Bay Area as guest speakers. They gave insightful presentations on the process of informatisation, the challenges faced, practices of digital transformation, and the application of artificial intelligence at their respective universities. The presentations led participants to explore the future direction of digital campus development and facilitated discussions.

Joint Universities Computer Centre Limited (JUCC) is an information technology alliance composed of higher education institutions in Hong Kong and Macao. The Steering Committee is the executive arm of JUCC responsible for deriving development strategies and approving operational decision. Currently, University of Macau is one of the affiliate members.
The JUCC Steering Committee Meeting was held at the University of Macau (UM) on 6 December 2024. In the meeting, members discussed the topics including licensing renewal, offsite workshop arrangement, and other administrative matters. It was a worthwhile meeting to learn the latest developments and experiences from member institutions.
A delegation from Lingnan University Hong Kong including Dr. Louisa Lam, Chief Information Officer and University Librarian, Dr. Cheung Wai Man, Associate Director of Information Technology Services Centre, along with their IT expert team representatives visited ICTO on 28 October 2024.
The visit began with a tour of our data center. Next, ICTO hosted an exchange meeting where discussions centered on the implementation and support of High-Performance Computing, as well as the challenges associated with AI computing. Both parties emphasized the importance of prioritizing quality over quantity in supporting research, highlighting the need to continuously improve computing facilities and capabilities. This exchange facilitated the sharing of relevant knowledge and skills, laying a solid foundation for future communication and collaboration.

To enhance the communication between ICTO and student representatives, the SUFG meeting was held on 15 January 2025.

The 1st IETC meeting for Academic Year 2024/2025 was held on 30 October 2024.
In the meeting, ICTO’s representatives shared the following topics:
- Software acquisition request for academic year 2025/2026
- New features of YuJa
- Update of campus network
- User satisfaction on ICTO services 2023/2024
- Information security tasks
IETC members provided comments and suggestions, the requests and suggestions collected in the meeting will be taken into consideration and action.
The regular meeting with IT support staff from various academic units and ICTO, AITSAG meeting was held on 24 September 2024.
