🔐 1. Handling Sensitive Information
- Keep It Safe: Always secure confidential data, especially when working off-campus.
- Clean Up: Delete sensitive files promptly once they are no longer needed.
- Skip Public Wi-Fi: Avoid using public networks when handling private information.
📧 2. Sending Mass Emails? Think Twice!
- Double-Check Everything: Make sure recipients, content, and attachments are correct before hitting send.
- Use BCC: Protect people’s privacy by using “Blind Carbon Copy” for large email groups.
- Watch for Phishing: Be alert to emails that seem suspicious or ask for personal info.
🎭 3. Spotting Online Scams & Deepfakes
- Trust Your Eyes & Ears: Look out for strange movements, mismatched audio, or anything that feels off in videos.
- Fact-Check: Always verify information with trusted sources.
- Pause on Urgency: If someone asks for money or urgent help, confirm it through another channel.
- Ignore Unknown Callers: DO NOT answer calls from numbers or names you DO NOT recognise.
🛡️ 4. Your Role in Campus Security
- Protect Our Systems: Avoid anything that could harm our network or data.
- Follow the Rules: DO NOT disable or bypass security settings.
- Use Legal Software: Only install licensed programs.
- Lock Down Your Passwords: Use strong, unique passwords and turn on two-factor authentication.
- Stay Compliant: Follow UM policies and Macau’s laws on information security.
