To enhance the capabilities of data recovery service, ICTO has setup a new storage system.
A new recovery software, Synology Active Backup for Business 
will be replaced the previously used Uranium Backup 
for all ICTO-provided desktop and laptop computers.
Benefit of New PC Data Recovery Service
– With a larger backup space
– Improve backup efficiency with incremental backup to reduce backup time
– Back up files from users’ computers to secure on-campus network storage
– Prevent any data loss or disk damage, users can restore lost files through self-service portal when needed from their successful backup
Status of New PC Data Recovery Software Updates
ICTO is arranging on-site PC Data Recovery Software updates for administrative staff from March 2024 (Completion Rate: 89%). The updates for academic staff will be arranged gradually.
Remarks: Computers issued after March 2024 are installed with New PC Data Recovery Software by default
