At present, the University maintains a total Internet bandwidth of 18 Gbps, supporting the needs of academic and administrative operations. Most users access the Internet via two local Internet service providers (ISPs), each offering distinct paths to ensure redundancy and reliability.
To make the best use of available bandwidth, ICTO follows these principles:
- Academic Priority: Teaching, research, and administrative activities are prioritised.
- Fair Usage: Bandwidth is allocated based on essential needs.
- Tiered Management: Different traffic types managed with appropriate strategies.
- Resource Optimization: Efficient use of technology and bandwidth.
- Security and Compliance: Ensuring safe and lawful network use.
