ICTO has organized the following meetings with students and staff members from September to December 2021.

The first Student User Focus Group (SUFG) meeting for the academic year 2021/2022 was held on 20 October 2021 and the second meeting was held on 19 January 2022.

In the first meeting, ICTO shared the information about various IT services and facilities available to students and information security updates.

In the second meeting, ICTO shared about the security measure of UMPASS account, upgrade of Follow-You student printing service, new GovPay integrated payment platform and plan of visit Postgraduate Houses and Residential Colleges.  Students provided feedback on the notification about the UMPASS account security measure.

The 2nd AITSAG meeting for Academic Year 2021/2022 was held on 9 November 2021.

In the meeting, ICTO’s representatives shared the following topics and responded to the enquiries from AITSAG members:

  • Launch of new Follow-You printing service
  • Schedule Update on Security Measures for Staff UMPASS account
  • Issue 22 of ICTO Newsletter

To share with the academic staff members and offer an opportunity to them to get familiar with the use of ICTO computer rooms, ICTO arranged a briefing on 28 September 2021 with basic information of computer rooms, use of Audio Visual equipment, use of Virtual Computer Room, use of Mplus (Teaching Assistant Tool) and about conduct exam in computer rooms etc.

To provide an opportunity to UM members to know more about the knowledge of Internet security in intelligent living, and share the information to protect data in electronic products, ICTO had organized an Information Security Webinar on 3 November 2021. ICTO invited an Information Technology expert from Hong Kong to introduce the importance of Information Security and the approaches of data privacy protection.

Chinese session and English session was arranged.  Topics included the following:

  • Home Office / Home Classroom Network Security
  • Phishing Mail
  • Password Protection
  • Two Factor Authentication (2FA)
  • Intelligent Living (QR Code Security)

The leadership training course for civil servants (the 3rd intake) is co-organised by the Public Administration and Civil Service Bureau and the University of Macau (UM). On 2 December, 30 students visited our data center. We had a sharing talk about our University’s IT facilities, and the support to end users. The students are also sharing their experience about e-government and inter-departmental cooperation on IT services.
