ICTO has organized the following briefing, workshop and meeting from February to August 2022.

In response to the teaching and learning arrangement in the new semester of 2022/2023, in order to let everyone know how to use Zoom effectively in classroom, ICTO arranged two online briefing sessions on 17 Aug. and 19 Aug. 2022 for Teaching Assistants.

Briefing Content included:

  • Using Zoom in Classroom
    – Preparation before lecture
    – In-lecture
    – After lecture
  • Demonstration

ICTO and ADMO-HRS organized two sessions of “WebCMS101 – Introduction to WebCMS and VOD platforms” workshop to staff members on 13 May 2022. ICTO received an overwhelming response, over 50 colleagues participated in the classes.

The workshop covered:

  • What is WebCMS
  • Dashboard and Admin Bar
  • Create posts and pages
  • Working with multi-media contents, images / videos
  • Create simple page layout
  • Making customized categories / tags
  • Customize basic theme options
  • Add multilingual support
  • VOD service introduction
  • Upload video files to VOD
  • Tips and Recommendation

On 20 April 2022, the 3rd Student User Focus Group (SUFG) Meeting for Academic Year 2021/2022 was held.

In the meeting, ICTO’s representatives shared the following information with students:

  • Security Measures for UMPASS Account
  • WiFi Improvement for Postgraduate Houses & Residential Colleges
  • Visited Postgraduate Houses & Residential Colleges
  • Termination of E-purse service and Add-Value Machine (AVM)
  • Launch of 23rd Issue of ICTO Newsletter
  • Information Security Updates

Student representatives provided feedback on using wireless service and enquired about printing issue after termination of e-Purse. ICTO staff provided instant response and followed up on the mentioned issues.

To enhance the communication and collect the user experience and feedback on using IT services, ICTO visited all the Residential Colleges, Postgraduate House and also meeting with UMSU representatives, UMPA representatives during February to March 2022. Students’ feedback was addressed to ICTO directly through the visits and a follow-up meeting was held in June 2022 to share the update and improvement works that ICTO has performed.
