With the ongoing prevention and control of COVID-19, it brings various impacts and changes for people. ICT services become important and necessary for daily life. With the needs for various online activities and the increase the use of ICT services, the requirements for the availability and reliability of the corresponding services and for support are also increasing. ICTO colleagues do their best to keep the services stable and provide support. Some key achievements are listed below:

New Monthly Parking Pass Application System was developed to provide a mobile friendly and responsive web interface for staff and students to submit application forms for applying, renewal and termination of UM’s Monthly Parking Pass.

New Purchase Request module allows departmental users to perform end-to-end procurement processes from creation of purchase request proposal to delivery. It also captures all information in a structured way to provide better analysis and management reporting.

The University’s payment gateway is now integrated with new payment platform known as GovPay which supports new mobile payment methods including BOC Pay, WeChat Pay, Alipay, Union Pay QR, Tai Fung Pay, ICBC ePay, Luso Pay, CGB Pay and UePay in addition to the traditional Visa/Master credit card payment. This makes our electronic payment services even more versatile and mobile-friendly.

UM has linked the e-Card Wallet (電子卡包) service in “Common Access to Public Services of the Macao SAR” GOV.MO APP (一戶通) with the University’s student card, library card, and various sports cards. With this service, students can present the e-Card to use various campus facilities such as library, sports facilities, shuttle bus and enjoy student discount at campus outlets and carpark. In the future, the alumni card will also be introduced by 2022.

UM has successfully deployed 9 data sets on the Macao SAR Government Open Data Platform (DATA.GOV.MO). The data covers a variety of areas, such as degrees offered, continuing education, library resources, patents, student exchange, etc.

The Internet download bandwidth was upgraded from 6.0Gbps to 7Gbps with available resources, a 17% increase over 2020, and 55% increase over 2019. In addition, a portion of the student Internet bandwidth was redirected to another local ISP to improve the user experience during peak hours. This increases the overall bandwidth while mitigating the problem of congestion from a single service provider.

ICTO has completed the upgrade of network switch for E3 to E7 Central Teaching Buildings (CTB) and S8 UMall. The upgrade mainly improved the connectivity of wireless access points (AP) and restructured the network architecture. This can enrich online teaching and learning at CTB through higher density of concurrent client connections and faster data transfer speed. For more information about the upgrade of Wireless LAN click here (link of Enhancements on Wireless Service).

ICTO upgraded the core network switch for Facility Management Network to 40 Gigabit networks to meet the demands of connecting various smart facility management systems on campus.

ICTO launched Self-Printing of Testimonial and Transcript Kiosks. After students submitted their applications online, they can print their testimonial and transcript at the designated kiosks.
