In today’s digital age, the importance of robust IT security cannot be overstated. To address the growing threats and ensure the safety of our digital infrastructure, ICTO recently organized a series of Security Awareness Activities aimed at educating and empowering our staff and students. These activities included an IT Security Seminar, Security Awareness Training for technical staff, and a Cybersecurity Promotion Activity for students.
The IT Security Seminar held on 30 October 2024, was a significant event aimed at enhancing understanding of IT security in the context of intelligent living. An Information Technology expert from Hong Kong led the seminar, focusing on the importance of IT security and various approaches to data privacy protection. Key topics covered included phishing and social engineering, password management, mobile devices and cloud security, AI in cybersecurity, and IoT security. The seminar provided valuable insights and practical knowledge, equipping attendees with the tools needed to protect data on electronic devices effectively.

ICTO conducted specialized Security Awareness Training for our IT staff, focusing on essential skills and knowledge to combat cyber threats. The training included Penetration Testing, Information Gathering, Protocol Analysis with BurpSuite, Domain Penetration, Black Box Testing, and more. Through scenario-based learning, our IT staff gained a practical understanding of handling security incidents.
ICTO organized a cybersecurity promotion activity again in November 2024. Through this activity, we aimed to raise students’ awareness of cybersecurity by offering them the chance to win prizes. This initiative engaged students in understanding the significance of cybersecurity.
