To further enhance the security and to safeguard against cyber threats, ICTO is upgrading the ESET antivirus on all desktop and laptop computers provided by ICTO.
The new ESET antivirus enhances the functionality and provides better threat detection and protection. It extends its protection to web browsers, PDF readers, email clients and MS Office components. Please find the improvement of ESET antivirus here.
The installation of ESET Endpoint Security 6 will take place from 10 August to 28 September 2016. It will be installed automatically on the computers via network. To complete the ESET antivirus software upgrade, please “Restart your computer”.
Once the installation process is completed, the ESET tray icon will be changed.
In addition, ICTO is preparing to launch the malicious email quarantine function to staff members. This function will be provided by the Secure Email Gateway which serves as the First-Level Production at the inbound of our campus email infrastructure. ICTO is conducting a survey to collect information on user preference regarding the function. The detail implementation of the function will be announced in due course.
