From January to April 2020, ICTO has organized the following meetings and trainings.
The 2nd Information and Education Technology Committee (IETC) meeting was held on 22 April 2020.
In the meeting, committee’s Chairman Prof. Ken Tam appreciated the effort and work of ICTO and all IETC members for maintaining good teaching and learning environment during the anti-epidemic period. ICTO’s representatives shared information about following topics.
- Support on teaching and learning during epidemic
- Further enhancements on online teaching and learning
- Software requests for academic purpose 2020/2021
- Support of Mac computers
- Information security updates

ICTO holds Academic IT Support Advisory Group (AITSAG) meetings regularly to share the experience and knowledge between support staff from academic units and ICTO in an interactive way.
The 3rd meeting was held via video conference on 10 March 2020.
In the meeting, ICTO’s representatives shared

- Update of UNIX system
- Data center hosting service
- Information Security related issues
In addition, ICTO’s representatives responded to the enquiry from AITSAG members.
Lastly, ICTO reminded the members to submit computing equipment request to ICTO Help Desk.

In response to the support of distance learning, ICTO arranged online training related to UMMoodle for all the AITSAG members and faculty representatives on 5 February 2020. The training introduced basic features related to teaching materials sharing, assignments, and quizzes of UMMoodle.
From time to time, ICTO organizes internal training to help colleagues enhancing their skills. In January 2020, a full-day workshop for learning Splunk (which is the leading Log Management System) was held. 24 colleagues from ACTS, IMS and IUS joined the workshop.
